Music Compositions

A) This is a selection of 28 short instrumental songs I had composed when I was younger using my favourite synth, Technics AX5. These songs form an album by the title “Αιωνίως θητεύω στο κάλλος”. The latter is a phrase from Eurypides which means “I forever serve the Good”.

I drew inspiration for these songs from antiquity and especially from anecdotes regarding Anaxarhon of Avdira (song: Anaxarhon the ou plitteis), Plotinus (song: Panta eiso), Hypatia of Alexandria (song: Synesios asked me what I thought), the Spartan life (song: Neodamodon) and Existentialism (songs: Trotting down a busy road, a dying man’s words). Moreover, compositions on poetry (songs: Mama, Vaphi Psychis), and the perennial themes of Love, Existence and Loss. The whole album can be found here: Georgios: Αιωνιως θητευω στο καλλος

B) Additionally, there is a single track EP which contains my study of dodecatone as part of my course on sound engineering. During that course I had the opportunity to expand my horizons and appreciate the music of Arnold Schoenberg, John Cage, Phillip Glass, Iannis Xenakis among others.

Atonality is the intent of this multilayer composition that challenged the polyphony of my synth and was a befreeing experience that has remained a milestone in my progress in appreciating music.

This song is a manifestation of John Cage’s thought that :

Our intention is to affirm this life, not to bring order out of chaos or to suggest improvements in creation, but simply to wake up to the very life we’re living, which is so excellent once one gets one’s mind and one’s desires out of its way and lets it act of its own accord”.

This composition of mine is titled Fractals in Unison and can be found here: Georgios: Fractals in Unison

I hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as I enjoyed composing it!
