George’s career involves a variety of positions, ranging from traveling around the world on oil tankers as a Navigation and Safety Officer (Deck Officer), managing a summer resort on a idyllic Greek island and later been responsible for a company of national guards as part of his military service, managing the smooth operation of container ships, managing the procurement and business analysis department for ANL Container Line (and regionally for CMA CGM) in Oceania, being responsible for contract and relationship management of key accounts for Patrick Terminals in Australia, managing the planning, scheduling and priority projects functions of the National Operations Centre for Patrick Terminals, to now, being the National Business Support and Analytics Manager for Patrick Terminals with specific emphasis on turning data into knowledge into visualizations and stories supporting the business to drive service excellence and support our customers’ needs.

George throughout his career has been responsible for significant portfolios ranging from Logistics Procurement of Intermodal, Stevedoring and Port Services, as well as, Chartering container vessels to Contract, Vendor and Customer Relationship Management and support for Business Development.

George’s primary focus and experience is in the Australian and New Zealand supply chains. However, he has been involved in a variety of projects relating to North East Asia, South East Asia and the US.

George has led small to medium teams with a constant focus on continuous improvement, team development, modernization of practices, productivity enhancement and the automation of processes towards best-practices’ cost management and value creation supporting the business’ vision and targets.

Furthermore, George’s passion for Continuous Improvement and Innovation has resulted in his volunteering for a variety of projects and functions such as, SAP and other platform implementation projects and change initiatives, as well as, key processes’ development and improvement utilising his skills in Lean Six Sigma.

George is highly reputed in the field of services procurement and logistics and has presented on topics such as, Globalisation, Services Procurement, Leadership, Continuous Improvement and Personal Productivity at various venues and Universities in Melbourne. He has also been the host at industry events and published articles on Procurement and Contract Management at various online publications.

George was a Board member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Australia (CILT Australia) from 2011 until 2016 and also a member of the International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM).

George holds an MBA from Victoria University specializing in International Supply Chain Management and Applied Economics,  he is also a certified Commercial Contract Management Practitioner (CCMP), a Green Belt Lean Six Sigma expert and also holds a Lloyd’s Maritime Academy Certificate in KPIs for Ports and Terminals. He also holds certification on variety of topics primarily relating to Contract Management, Negotiations, International Regulations, Problem Solving and Change Management.
